Suffering
Illness, loss, injustice, and the God who allows it.
How do I stop dwelling on my past and move forward with God?
You can't entertain those thoughts, because that's not who God created us to be. God created us to be proactive, seeking a solution, putting our faith in him.
If I'm a faithful Christian, why is my life so hard?
Christ says, blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Not the kingdom of earth.
How can I 'rejoice' when people lie about me and attack me?
This is where I feel so challenged every time I read it. Christ says, rejoice and be exceedingly glad.
Why do I fall apart spiritually when life gets hard?
"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.
Didn't Christ suffer on the cross so we don't have to?
Somebody told me about 12 years ago that what I didn't understand about Christianity was that Christ died on the cross so that we don't have to.
How can you have hope that people can really change?
I always have hope. I'm super hopeful. I'm hope maxing all the time, because I believe in the power of Christ. Christ can change anyone.
I've hit rock bottom. Am I too far gone for God?
When a person makes very catastrophic and devastating decisions and hits that proverbial rock bottom in sin, they say in that moment they are very close to God.
How do I stop living in fear and anxiety as a Christian?
Nobody became a Christian to become fearful. The whole idea of being a Christian is the antithesis of fear, which is faith in God.
Will God really take care of me and my family?
If God is our real father, and I mean this, he has to take care of us, because we are his children. Christ says it in the Gospels: even the pagan fathers take care of their children.
Is it wrong to feel alone when God doesn't rescue me from my struggles?
There are situations we have to suffer through individually. That is part of our process of becoming like Christ, who says, not my will, but the will of the Father.
