Suffering

I've hit rock bottom. Am I too far gone for God?

When a person makes very catastrophic and devastating decisions and hits that proverbial rock bottom in sin, they say in that moment they are very close to God. The reason is that in the moment they finally do something catastrophic, they're humbled, and in the moment they're humbled, they're very close to God. They say, Lord, forgive me, and God says, I'm right here.

I can forgive you. It's so interesting, because somebody else may be doing much better in life, but they never have any humility, and in that way they're not like God at all. They can't even find God. They can't even reach him. In that moment the person really, truly says: I need you. I cannot live without you. And God says: perfect.
