If I'm a faithful Christian, why is my life so hard?

Christ says, blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Not the kingdom of earth. This is where we figure out if we're a real Christian or not. People come to you saying, blessings, blessings, your life is going to be blessed, things are going to go well. That's not Christianity. The followers of Christ were persecuted for hundreds of years, they were martyred, their children were martyred, their lives were thrown into upheaval, and they accepted that as a normal part of being a Christian, because the servant is not greater than the master.

Yet everybody comes to Christianity today and says, when is my life going to get better? Why are there so many difficulties, trials, and temptations? Why is the devil reviling against me? That's what the devil does. But the reward is the kingdom of heaven for those who are Christians.
