Is it wrong to make big plans for my life?

It's not healthy for us to have plans in mind for our life. It's normal to have a desire. It's normal to strive to do our best. It's important to leave the results up to God. It's like when people say, "Oh, when I get married, I'm going to have ten kids." Well, we'll see. We should do the things that God has given us to do, cultivate the things God gives us to do, and then leave it in God's hands.

St John Chrysostom says that people who dream about having a lot of money and giving that money to the church are basically just making an excuse to daydream with their greed. They think they're going to give a lot of money, and the truth is that most people who make money don't actually give a lot of money.
