Why do Protestants seem more at peace than struggling Orthodox?

One of the Greek elders was asked about this. Protestant missionaries had come to Greece, and the Orthodox said, Elder, these missionaries seem very peaceful, whereas we Orthodox are struggling to acquire peace. Why do they seem more peaceful than us? The elder said, when you tie up a little lamb, do you tie up the whole thing or just a leg? They said, just the leg.

He said, that is the way it is with Protestantism. The devil knows he has them tied up with heresy, so he leaves them alone. In Protestantism people are cut off from the power of the sacraments: from holy confession and the remission of sins as Christ prescribed when he gave the disciples power to bind and loose sin, from the actual body and blood of Christ, which exists only in the Orthodox Church through the priest with apostolic lineage calling down the Holy Spirit, from holy baptism by triple immersion, and from receiving the Holy Spirit at chrismation.

The devil knows the power in the sacraments even if people do not. So when someone draws near to that power, the devil has to fight them and make the journey into Orthodoxy as arduous as possible. And for those who reach baptism, the warfare doesn't end. Sometimes it intensifies, and for those ordained to the holy priesthood it becomes even more intense.
