Why can't I quit porn even though I go to confession?

As a precondition, you have to have some sense of anger: anger that pornography and fantasy do not define who you are, and that they are pathetic, unmanly activities to be involved in. Sometimes guys come to confession almost expecting me to hold them accountable, but they have no internal sense of who they are as a man. I want every man to have the internal sense that this behavior is pathetic, that it is not worthy of me as a man, and a strong anger at falling into it so easily.

That has to come internally. It's not about being religious or being in the church. You have to be able to rightly define who you are as a man, and because of that, you have to be angry at the things that keep you childish, immature, running from responsibilities, and looking to assuage your negative feelings by running to pornography. There is a patheticness to it, and you have to feel that for yourself.
