What do I do when nobody believes in me?

You have to make that shift in life where you say, I can't control everything that happened in my childhood, but I'm an adult now, and from this point forward I have to make the decisions to see my life through, because nobody else is pulling for my success. You're lucky as an adult man if you have even one or two people who really want to see you be successful.

Most people are focused on their own life and pay very little attention to anyone else. So if you say, Father, I'm lonely, I don't have encouragement, I understand that. I've had times in my priesthood where people around me told me I was going to be an absolute failure as a priest. This life is going to be full of people who discourage you and criticize you, and full of childhood traumas and defective ways you react to them. I get it. I understand all of that.
