Is it OK to make Orthodox icons with AI?

You ask AI to create an icon and it creates it? I wouldn't do that. There are prayers of preparation before writing an icon. There's the state of the person who is writing the icon. This is one of those things that's popped up a lot these days on the internet, where people are just at home making icons. That's not proper. Somebody who is painting icons should only be doing so with the blessing of their spiritual father, under the guidance of an experienced iconographer.

It is a craft, a trade that is handed on, and it follows very specific rules. It is not proper to make low-quality icons.
