How is the Orthodox view of salvation different from being 'saved' in Protestantism?

The term salvation in the West is very loaded, because it has to do with a juridical decree. The understanding in the West is that our relationship with God is one of judge, jury, executioner. If we do not have a good relationship with God we are going to hell, but if we believe in Christ, stamped, all our sins are forgiven, we are saved. It is a proclamation, a declaration, that is it.

This is not believed by anybody in early Christianity. You do not really see anyone who is Protestant quoting the church fathers, because their form of Christianity is not compatible with Protestantism. Belief in Christ and baptism is the beginning of our life of repentance, which culminates after our death in encountering Christ and his judgment.
