Do Orthodox Christians know if they're saved?

With the Orthodox view of judgment, you're basically saying: I don't know what's going to happen until I die. People hate that. They say, well, am I saved or not? And we say, we don't know. But that's actually what the scriptures teach: nobody will know until they face Christ on that day. Even St Paul says, I have to do these things lest I run the race in vain.

Meaning: I've been doing it, but if I fail at the end, I won't be saved. Everybody likes the idea of once saved, always saved: say a prayer, click your heels, go to the cookout, and you're good. It's much more uncomfortable to realize that Christ will judge us. But this is what's in the scriptures.
