Are Jews still God's chosen people according to Orthodoxy?

The heresy I address the most is this Christian Zionist heresy, which is a gross and disgusting heresy, one of the most damaging things to our country and to Christians in the Holy Land who are suffering from it. It rests on a misreading of the book of Hebrews. The church, the believers, are the ones grafted onto the vine. Faith is what makes someone God's people, not ethnicity.

Look at Christ's genealogy: Rahab, Ruth, several women who were not Jewish by ancestry but were part of the people of God by faith. This is why, when people confronted Christ and said, our ancestors are Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, he said, no, they're not, because if they were here now they would acknowledge me as Lord. You cannot be in the lineage of faith and deny Christ at the same time.

Those who reject Christ are no longer following God. Those who believe are grafted into the vine. These are the words of St Paul. God's people has never stopped, and the continuation of that legacy is the church, and I mean the Orthodox Church: one body, one faith, one apostolic succession, as the Nicene Creed affirms.
