Why does sin never satisfy the way I expect it to?

The devil is like a Ponzi scheme. He's always selling you a higher rate of return on your investment. He says, listen, if you commit this sin, your level of satisfaction is going to be through the roof. And the great irony is that when people commit sins, in the moment they say, I feel good, and afterwards they feel so bad and so low. That's the work of the devil.

He's like somebody selling you a used car without showing you the engine. They put a new paint job on it and he says, look at this car, it's so good, you're going to love it. You say, let me look at the engine, and he says, don't worry about that, just buy it and drive off, and you'll deal with that later. People do that. They buy into the sin, they get down the road, and then they start to realize: this is not what I bought. This is not what I meant to buy.
