Is the Holy Spirit still working miracles today?

Yes. I once met a local reformed pastor who told me, we're cessationists, we don't believe the Holy Spirit is working anymore. I said, I 100 percent agree with you that the Holy Spirit is not working in your denomination. We're in full agreement. But in Orthodoxy, the Holy Spirit is still working. When I became Protestant at 18, I read the Book of Acts several times and thought, where is this?

Where are the miracles, the grace of the Holy Spirit? Why isn't this happening anymore? When I came into Orthodoxy, I saw there are still miracles all the time. St Paisios got cancer because he prayed for God to take a boy's cancer, and he took it on himself and died. If you hang out in an Orthodox church long enough, you'll see real miracles happen before your very eyes, and you realize this is the church of the Book of Acts.

Is the Holy Spirit still working to help people in Protestantism? I believe so. I'm a testimony of that: my life changed radically when I became Protestant. But after five or six years I realized my relationship with Christ hadn't grown. I still felt unhealed, disconnected, like something was missing. Then I read the Orthodox saints and thought, they know God.

I know about God, but they know God. And their lives were so authentic: miracles never spoken of until after they died, no money, no book deals, no fan following. Either this is the Holy Spirit or it's a giant charade, and nothing told me it was a charade.
