Is God disappointed in me when I keep sinning?

The expectation from God is not that we are perfect and sinless, because that doesn't exist. The expectation from God is that when we sin, we turn back to him. This is what constantly confuses people. The devil tells them, if I fall into sin, I'll just repent, God will accept me. Then the moment they fall, the demons say, God will not accept you, and they are clouded with guilt and shame and say, I can't turn back to prayer.

Why not? Why are we putting such limitations on God? Why do we think God is like a human being, psychologically evaluating us, disappointed in us? God is so transcendently beyond us that we cannot even begin to comprehend him. It's not that he's merciful, he is mercy. It's not that he has love for us, he is love. In every single moment he is merciful, kind, loving, gentle, and humble toward us, because he is the embodiment of those attributes.

If we imagine God sitting there evaluating all the ups and downs of our life, we miss out on connecting with him right now. The only thing God wants from us in every moment is to be with us and for us to be with him.
